Books for Africa is a charitable corporation working to increase literacy and improve access to education by ending the book famine in Africa. Saint Paul’s maintains a collection box for the Books for Africa program in the lower level of the church. Hard covered books are welcome, along with either hard or soft covered school textbooks. Textbooks are especially welcome.
This important program was summarized by Kofi Annan, former U.N. Secretary General who said, “Books For Africa is a simple idea, but its impact is transformative. For us, literacy is quite simply the bridge from misery to hope.”
